I was at the Park City Ski Team ski swap which is the biggest ski swap here in Utah. We had a couple pairs of the 07-08 Districts left which we opted to put into the swap and give a couple of lucky buyers the chance to snatch them up for cheap.
When I was checking them in, a middle aged man who was helping me commented "wow, these are fat skis!" after which he then made the following comment while I was writing down the price of $200 for each ski. (yea, I said cheap!)
" You know that charging $200 is crazy. I've been seeing top of the line race skis with bindings for $150 and those may not sell."
I turned to him, looked him in the eye and kindly said:
"You've obviously never heard of Bluehouse have you?"
He shrugged saying that he didn't know much about fat powder skis.
No harm no foul, but I thought it was pretty funny when I went back to the swap to pick up the check and they were hauling piles of unsold race skis out to the donation truck.
