Demo at Canyons - Sat. Dec. 12 (Volunteers Needed)

jared's picture

Bluehouse will be participating in the Canyon's massive demo day tomorrow - and we need Volunteers! There are sure to be masses there with forecast for snow and the opportunity to try any gear you can imagine. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell the random person in the checkout line next to you, the Canyons is the place to be tomorrow.

Volunteers

If you would be interested in helping out Bluehouse tomorrow, just drop a comment below and give me your telephone number.  Volunteers will receive a free day pass, but are exepected to be in the lower Canyon's parking lot no later than 7:30 a.m. After setup there will be plenty of time to ski, hang out, and help out.  We'll take the first three people who respond.

Cheers!

Bluehouse

Video Edit From Mr. Kutcher's GANG

Shane's picture

Mr. Jon Kutcher posted a short edit recently to Vimeo. I figured all the Bluehouse community deserves to see some of his early work this season.

I guess they're going gangster with this one.

Utah Resorts Going Green!

Shane's picture

Utah resorts, Sundance and Park City, were recently honored as the 3rd and 4th, respectively, most green ski resorts in the Western US. Read story HERE.

Bluehouse supports the green movement. That is one of the major factors in our choice to use only bamboo for our core material. During this week of thanks, we give thanks to any company or individual that chooses to be soft on the environment.

Stay green and keep it clean.

Bluehouse in Tahoe!

Shane's picture

I traveled to Tahoe this weekend and had a good time with Andy Davis and his posse. Andy arranged the Poorboyz premiere in the showroom of the Montbleu Resort in South Lake Tahoe--one of the nicest venues I've been to. This was my second time in that show hall. The first time I ever went there was in Summer '01, Counting Crows.

Needless to say, both times I've been there I was surrounded by high energy. The Tahoe crowd is ready to go for the winter season. Even as we showed the film, there was snow falling on the Sierras. Even the lake looked a drab gray from a lowering chill factor that will inevitably turn the town into a picturesque Ski, USA.

Bluehouse gives a shout to Andy and co. for inviting it to the show. Thanks to everybody who came to chat with me at the show. And congratulations to Dane (didn't get the last name) for winning a brand new pair of Bluehouse Mavens. Enjoy those.

Here are a few pictures from the event:

Boycott Utah?

jared's picture

As many of you may know, Utah has received some bad press lately as a result of certain grassroots efforts of the LDS church to fight the Proposition 8 Constitutional Amendment that recently passed in California making marriage exclusively between a man and woman.  Now certain organizations are calling for a boycott on Utah tourism, including Utah skiing and the Sundance film festival.

When I first read the article located at http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_10927375 I kept waiting for a reference to Bluehouse since we have become so synonomous with Utah skiing (please note the sarcasm).  Anyhow, although I respect the GLBT community mobilizing their efforts, I respectfully disagree with the recent approach to boycott Utah skiing. It's like punishing "peanut butter" for something "grape jelly" did.  Even though the two are somehow inextricably intertwined, they are not one and the same.

On the other hand, boycott of Utah ski tourism means more fresh tracks for me....

No More International Shipping (Canada Excluded)

jared's picture

We have appreciated the international response we have received this year, but we have quickly become aware that we will no longer be able to accomodate international shipments.  Too many people have requested that we falsify customs forms, which is something we absolutely cannot do since, if we do, we stand to face serious fines and sanctions which may bar us from doing business in your respective nations in the future.  Additionally, shipping fuel surcharges and customs brokering is simply out of our hands and we cannot guarantee the cost to you to get your skis in your hands.

We are currently working on setting up distributorships in those nations in which we have had the greatest response.  This will ease the process of getting you your skis and will allow for easier handling of warranty issues.  We apologize to those internationals contemplating ordering Bluehouse Skis and hope you will check us out when we arrive in your nation.

Sincerely,

Bluehouse.
